Halloween in Tyria has taken a dark turn. The old stories have been proven true: Mad King Thorn is very real, and his insanity threatens to corrupt all of Tyria. Brand-new Halloween activities, maps, puzzles, events, and surprises await the brave adventurer.
Soo... Unfortunately my computer would blow up if I tried to record videos, but I know a few crazy people who are always make fun videos.
My favorite things in this game are the jumping puzzles.
Jumping puzzles are open-world mini-dungeons that require the player to find the right jumping route to a hidden chest. They are sometimes guarded by veteran enemies. They currently reward a Jumping Puzzle achievement for completing each individual jumping puzzle, usually combined with a Grand, Magnificent or Splendid Chest. Some puzzles have multiple chests and false endings.
And they're also the part of the game that can drive me nuts!! I'm HORRIBLE at jumping puzzles. They took me hours (and hair) to complete sometimes. But they're still fun!
So, one of the new stuff in this GW2 Halloween event is a new jumping puzzle, called Mad King’s Clock Tower – Only the Mad King himself could imagine up such a devious jumping puzzle. You’ll need nerves of steel and steady feet to claim the treasure at the top of the Mad King’s tower.
I always fell off the little, slim parts of the puzzles, but manage to jump a long distance *shakes head*. Looks like I'm better in the more difficult puzzles, than in the originally easier ones.
The final and the biggest event is related to the Mad King himself.
This group dungeon is Act 3 of the Halloween Event.
Ascent to Madness -- The beautiful lion statue in Lion's Arch has shattered, and in its place, there is now a portal to the Mad King's realm. Steel yourself if you decide to enter this nightmarish world of madness and mirth where heroes battle to keep the Mad King locked away and harmless.
Besides these, there are fun little Halloween things aroung the world, such as Carving Pumpkins. Interacting with them will change them into a jack-o-lantern. Or There is a huge cauldron in the middle of town to which jumping in grants you a random costume to use in costume brawling.
Haunted doors have also started popping up around the land. These mysterious creations are interactive objects that can reward players with goodies or punish them depending on your luck. When a player interacts with one the door will open, revealing either an enemy, dynamic event or a Trick-or-Treat Bag. They can be used multiple times before they disappear and killing the ghoulish foes will also net you an achievement.
The Mad King is really maaaad. He tells jokes, they're usually TERRIBLE!
The Mad King begins with a small introduction before telling a random joke.
"What this celebration needs is a bit of humor. Unfortunately, the court jester couldn't make it tonight. Luckily for you, in addition to being wise and generous, I am very, very witty. Listen up!"
Okay, I give you a Mad King joke to get a better picture...
"I know you mortals are always interested in the future so I will give you a little preview. Two hundred years from now...YOU ARE ALL DEAD! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA"See?? I told you. They're HORRIBLE!!
After each of these jokes, any player that fails to laugh is killed, and the king states that:
"One way or another, my jokes always slay the audience." (if someone doesn't /laugh)
"Although I know the joke was rewarding in itself, here is a little something for those who laughed." (if someone /laughs)
For all of you sad sops who don't know the rules, hear me now! You must do only what your Mad King says, and nothing else! Consider it a lesson in obedience.
