My Thoughts:
ARC review!
Bewitch is book five in the Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance Series, but it can be read as a stand alone - but really, you don't want to miss out the others, trust me!
Payne was my second favorite character in the series, because he was mysterious, dark, dangerous. Typical bad boy figure, but he's also loyal and cares about his friends. I loved him in Bewitch most of the time, but as we got to know him, he seemed a little more weaker character, than he was before. Of course he had a pretty rough past, but sometimes it felt like I'm reading about a twenty some years old boy instead of a hundreds of years old man and because of that, his character lost a litttle of the "magic" that bewitched me when we first met him in the series. Maybe it was too romantic for me, personally. I loved when he switched to the possessive incubi or vampire, though. I'm so jealous of Elissa! And I'm really interested in his real name.
Speaking of Elissa, she made quite an entrance. And I immediately liked her. She was sassy, kick-ass witch, and gave a really hard time to Payne and even had a good sense of humor. However, as the story went on, all these traits disappeard leaving an innocent, sweet, scared little girl behind. Why not mix the two? A kick-ass girl can be vulnerable too.
The plot including Payne's and Elissa's personal mission had some flaws too (like why the hell she didn't use her magic when she should and could have, or why was the big bad enemy that weak and where were his loyal minions when he needed them the most?), but the book's real essence was, however FLAWLESS. The relationship between Payne and Elissa was passionate and not just because the guy is a sex demon, but I could truly believe that they were meant for each other. The only thing that I will say about the erotic scenes is that they easily topped any others in this series.
One thing out of so many I love about Felicity's writing is that she has an incredible imagination when it comes to world building and she's never afraid to use it. Even when it's not the point, and we won't see that place again, she makes it unfogottable by describing it so beautifully and making that, too, interesting. And that says a lot since I truly hate the description parts in the books. I loved that we stepped out of the theatre setting into the fae world.
Overall: Not as good as the previous book, but still my second favorite so far. It's blazing hot, so be prepared when you step into the fae world, you're going to be bewitched and not only by a seductive and naughty vampire incubus. ;)
