Taboo Kisses…where desires and inhibitions collide.

Dispatched to the mortal realm from Atlantis to seek the source of a brewing rebellion, Sameya is thrown for a tailspin when she discovers her fated mates. As a siren her songs entice mankind and immortals alike to their death. She’s stunned to be seduced by a taboo union with a tiger-shifter and vampyr. Mating the pair could complicate everything and threaten her freedom. Fueled by her duty to Atlantis, Sameya rejects fate’s wisdom and refutes her attraction to the men.

Taboo Kisses…when the forbidden becomes irresistible.

Gabriel and Maximus have been searching for their mate for centuries. Neither expected the siren they were hired to find would deliver more than a lucrative payday. Frustrated by Sameya’s aversion to their mating, the men anticipate an empty future if she refuses to complete their union. In a rash move Maximus seizes Sameya and holds her captive.

Taboo Kisses…when the siren is serenaded with temptation.

Trapped and at their mercy, Sameya is bombarded with pleasure. Can her mates convince her to take a gamble on their taboo union? With danger lurking in the shadows, will the choice be taken from her?

EXCERPT:

Empress’ delights, she disliked the jumbled way he made her feel. Confused one moment and aroused the next. “What is your name?”
“Call me mate.”
Her breathing died, then escalated. She forced a lame-ass sounding laugh past her lips. “Don’t get cocky. I’m not into leeches.”
“Don’t disqualify me from the running.” He sidled closer, aligning his body against hers once more, but maintaining space with his palms on the mausoleum on either side of her head. “Not when Gabriel and I haven’t had the gratification of making you come…yet.”
She gasped, her eyes rounding at his foregone conclusion. “Better men than you have tried.”
“None of them were your mates.”
“Wait! Mates? As in plural?” She flattened her hands against his chest to push him away, but forgot to add pressure. The hard contours of his body fascinated her more than was practical. “That’s…insane.” But gods the idea fascinated her. “Sirens don’t partner outside our race and we certainly don’t have more than one partner.”
Sameya didn’t realize she spoke the thought aloud until the vampyr thrust both his hands into her hair. After he had her anchored into position, he shifted closer, widening his stride to fit her pelvis between his legs. His hard-on nestled against her abdomen as he tilted her head back by her hair.
“No more insane than a vampyr mating a shifter.” His mouth landed on hers. He nibbled on her bottom lip, licked the corners and crease. Distracted by the exhilarating sensations, she was unprepared to counteract his move when he placed the pad of his thumb against her chin and tugged, parting her lips for his tongue to thrust inside.

  1. Those who have read your other books know (and appreciate) that you're not holding back when it comes to love scenes, but why did you start writing erotic fiction? Was there a certain influence that made you want to go from PNR (or horromance as you like to call it) to a full-length erotic PNR?
    Gracen:
I never thought to myself, “I should write a full-length erotic PNR novel.” My husband asked me to write him something “kinky”, so Taboo Kisses was born. Without his request, I might’ve never written the book. The book is dedicated to him.
  2. Are there any differences in the way you develop a character in erotica, say, than in other realms of fiction?
    Gracen:
Not really. I still need a little bit of a storyline, something driving the characters, otherwise, the story fails. The sex can be heavy, but there needs to be a connection between the characters. In other words, I don’t want to write sex just to be writing sex.
  3. Why a siren, a vampyr and a tiger shifter? (Not that we’re complaining…)
    Gracen:
I’m a vampire whore. They were the first supernatural creatures I fell in love with. Shifters are my second favorite and since we see so many werewolf shifters, I wanted something different. That’s why I went with a tiger shifter. As for the siren…I wanted something totally unlike anything else most folks have read in a romance. And I can’t name one book that has a siren as a lead. Giving the female the advantage in the story just because of her species seemed like the best idea of all! *big cheesy grin* I love kick-ass heroines, and while Sameya has a huge ego, she’s also got the power to back up her arrogance.
  4. What was your favorite line in Taboo Kisses?
    Gracen:
“You’re like catnip my cat wants to roll around in and get drunk on.” ~ Gabriel, tiger-shifter
  5. What was your favorite scene/sex scene in Taboo Kisses?
    Gracen:
Hands down the strawberry scene was my favorite sex scene. Even though I never planned to write those strawberries into that scene (my muse took over and put them in there), I think it turned out great. My favorite non-sex scenes are when she meets Gabriel for the time in the bar and then when she meets Maximus for the first time at the cemetery.
  6. Did you ever try it? Would you?
    Gracen:
I’m assuming we’re talking about my favorite sex scene…Nope I’ve not ever tried the strawberry scene, but I would if my husband wanted to give it a go.
  7. Why are you so awesome at writing them?
    Gracen:
Still assuming we’re talking about my favorite sex scene…Ha! I have no idea. I’m not always sure I pull off sex scenes, but the readers seem to like them. When I write a sex scene (any scene really) my single goal is to write it in such a way that the reader feels as if they are the character. If the reader’s not horny when they finishing reading a sex scene, then I have failed at my job.
  8. The heroine, Sameya is from Atlantis. I loved the descriptions, and the world building. Even though TK is a standalone novel, any chance we'll go back to Atlantis in the future?
    Gracen:
I have plans to write Kat’s book. I’ve already got the storyline somewhat outlined and I’ve located photos of her guys. It’s just a matter of finding the time to write it.
  9. What was the funniest/weirdest thing the readers said about Taboo Kisses?
    Gracen:
I hear one repeated thing: “I will never look at strawberries the same again.” Ha!
  10. What quality do you most admire in a man?
    Gracen:
Wow…that’s tough. When I write books, I love alpha males willing to do anything for their woman. But in real life, I like that my husband asks for my opinion, respects my outlook, and even considers them. He’s an alpha type of guy, but he’s got a sensitive side and spoils me. He’s honorable, has high morals, and believes in giving to the community and needy. I’ve been known to say more than once that he’s a better person than I am.
  11. Would you consider doing any of the following? Why or why not?
-- Writing books that did not deal with sex in some way
    Gracen:
I won’t say no, but at this point I cannot imagine why I’d be compelled to write a book without some sex. The reason why is because I think sex is as important to a romance as the wooing. I realize there are a lot of folks that prefer closed-door-sex, but that’s not my style. It’s also not what I like to read. When I read a book and the characters are super hot together, I’m disappointed when the sex scene is closed-door because I wanted to see how explosive they are together in the bedroom.

    -- Writing sci-fi (sci-fi romance, maybe? I love those!)
    Gracen:
If I could come up with the sci-fi romance concept, I’d definitely give it a try. I love sci-fi too, there’s just not much of it out there and I’m unfortunately not good at world building like that.
  12. Last question. Tell us about your next project! Yes, I know about it, but this is the time and place for commercials!
    Gracen:
I just finished a new adult romance titled Rockin the Heart. It’s the first story in the Hot Wired series. The series is about rock stars with big egos and the women who fall in love with them. The tag line for Rockin the Heart is...No song is too loud when you’re rockin the heart! The official blurb will release the same day the cover art you created is revealed...December 17th. The book releases January 21, 2014. I fell in love with these characters. OMG did I fall in love with them! Since writing “the end”, I have suffered the worst book hangover, worse than any of my other books. I’m now working on book 2 in the Hot Wired series and book 4 in the Road to Hell series.

Here’s a small snippet from Heath ”Fang” Fangor in Rockin the Heart...
“Reality check…I’m a rock star, Samantha Collins, I always get what I want.” He leaned forward just enough their breaths mingled. The dark outline of the cross that was inked onto his shoulder and collarbone area peeked from the collar of his shirt. “I. Want. You.”

Gracen is a hopeless daydreamer masquerading as a “normal” person in southern society. When not writing, she’s a full-time basketball/football/guitar mom for her two sons and a devoted wife to her real-life hero-husband. She’s addicted to writing, paranormal romance novels, movies, Alabama football and coffee…addictions are not necessarily in order of priority. She is convinced coffee is nectar from the gods and blending coffee and writing together generates the perfect creative merger. Many of her creative worlds are spawned from coffee highs.
