Going to Hell was supposed to save Madison, but knowing she’s dead because of his failure leaves Nix with only one thing to live for. Revenge. With Micah’s help he learns to use his Messianic power. Anything for Mads has become his mantra, even if it means killing innocents to gather the power he needs to succeed. Pandora’s Box…once you open it, there’s no turning back!

Shocked and hurt to discover Nix has become a willing participant of Hell, she’s more certain than ever she won’t escape the demonic fate her husband outlined for her. ARC review!

I'm pretty sure I have a Lynx (A unique and very powerful breed of succubus) living inside me and it's desperately craving for the third book. Actually, it's demanding it, and I'm not sure I'm able to hold it back... Hell! What the heck I'm sayin'?? It's already took control over me and I'm suffering withdrawal.

Hell's Phoenix is the second instalment of the Road To Hell series. I LOVED the prequel and the first book, but THIS was EPIC! Maybe I should duplicate my FIVE STARS rating, because if any book deservers TEN stars, then it's sure as hell this one does. We have the chance to dig deeper into the RTH world this time. So deep, that we reached Hell... literally. Madison intended to save Nix from Hell, had a good plan - okay, maybe not THAT good, but it was a plan after all -, and nothing goes as she planned. But at least she managed to get into her husband's, Micah's realm to fulfil her quest.

The description of Hell was CREEPY but awesome. I'm sure I wouldn't go there willingly if there wasn't a Micah... This book contains several breathtaking scenes, maybe sometimes you will even cry -I almost did and I never cry!!- And good news for adrenaline junkies, there is absolutely no lack of action in this book.

Some of the characters changed A LOT! Starting with our cheeky, a little bit arrogant and irresistible (well I Can resist him, thanks to Micah!) hero, Phoenix Birmingham. In fact, every word is still true about him, except the HERO part. Revenge. That is what turns him to the Dark side. And then there's Micah... oh my Love! I'm not sure he actually changed, but we get to see a new side (I always knew he has a sweet side too - OMG did I just say THAT?? Hope he didn't hear it...) of him. However, don't expect a 180 degree turn from him. He is still the big misunderstood player like he was before, but you might will get to love him a bit more now. Madison. What could I say about her? She's still awesome and strong and some choices she makes show exactly how strong really she is. Zen, Oh Zenny. He has definitely changed too. The question is, will he be capable of take Madison down when it's truly necessarily- just as easily as he says? Alessa is FUN to read. Nix's Lucky is a hilarious but smart character, I just love her. There's a bunch of new, interesting characters, like the Kings of Hell or Madison's new allies, who are quite bad-asses if you ask me.

oh and there was a line where I was an emotional crap... "To Be Continued…." NOOOOOOO!!!! WANT.IT.NOW.

OVERALL: This is an Epic sequel in an amazing series from a really talented and naughty author. Thrilling, heartbreaking and sometimes funny. Featured with some of the most realistic and well-built characters I have ever read. Hell's Phoenix is absolutely a one-way ticket to the RTH world. Once you got in, you will not want to get out.

BLOODRIGHT excerpt!

Such a TEASE...
This excerpt has a K.I.L.L.E.R. cliffhanger!! I want to be a sleeping beauty, and wake me up on the release day, please!!

If you haven't read Blood Law, the first book in the series, then what the hell are you waiting for?? Go and get it NOW!!

Their shared blood will destroy them in hatred–or unite them in passion…

After years of waiting, Lycan Alpha Lucien Mondragon is poised to take revenge on his brother, Rafael, by killing Rafael’s life mate, the Lycan/Slayer half-breed Falon—but he cannot complete the kill. Instead of ending her life, Lucien defiantly marks Falon as his own.

Though terrified by the savage Lucien, Falon finds herself drawn to him. Torn between the love she has for Rafael and the hunger she holds for Lucien, the will of Falon’s heart will lead her to her destined life mate–but it may also doom the brothers and the Lycan race to extinction…

Expected publication: April 3rd 2012

Warning: DON'T read if you haven't read Blood Law, the first book in the series yet!!

“I WILL NOT join with him!” Falon shouted, pointing a finger at Lucien, the dark and dangerous brother the council had just given her to. The brother she despised. The brother she would never lay with!

Lucien’s brilliant golden eyes sparked furiously. Hand extended, he strode toward her with the confidence of a man who knew he had won the prize fair and square. “You are mine now. Come to your master.”

Rafael, Lucien’s twin brother, the man Falon loved, snarled as he shifted to wolf and lunged. Lucien shifted and met him in the air, his black wolf snarling just as ferociously as Rafael’s golden wolf. Their two bodies clashed and, as they had years ago, they tore at each other with one purpose: to kill. Only this time, it was Rafael who fought his brother for the life of his mate.

Still shocked at the verdict, Falon’s brain sputtered, unable to react.

Never in her wildest dreams had she expected the verdict that had just been handed down. Never would she have agreed to abide by it. This could not be happening! She was supposed to stay with her beloved Rafael. Did the council not hear his truth? Lucien’s mate was a Slayer! It was every Lycan’s bloodright to kill any Slayer. And so Rafael had. But they believed Lucien’s lies that she was not, and for his deceit, Falon was being torn from her true love’s arms and forced into his brother’s.

Just as stupefied, her pack, Vulkasin, and Lucien’s pack, Mondragon, stood in dumbfounded silence. Unmoving, Falon stared as the twin wolves viciously tore into each other. Warm blood sprayed across her face and chest. Chunks of fur and flesh flew around her.

The cracking sound of breaking bones, punctuated by terrifying snarls. Dear God, they were going to kill each other! Falon shifted into a ferocious she- wolf. She would defend her mate to the death. She would not live without him. Falon leapt into the vicious fray. She yelped as fangs sunk into her flesh and bones, tearing her apart. Despite their blood frenzy to destroy the other, the brothers broke apart when they realized Falon had entered the fray.

Neither wanting to harm her, they backed away. Heads down, ears pinned low, with wary eyes on the other, they circled her maimed body. Shaking from the pain of the wounds, Falon shifted back into her human form.

“Rafa,” she pleaded, touching his bloody muzzle as he came around to her, “don’t do this. I could not bear losing you.”

Review ~ Archangel's Blade by Nalini Singh

Title: Archangel's Blade
Author: Nalini Singh
Series: Guild Hunter (Book 4)
Length: 310 pages
Publish Date: 6th Sept. 2011
Publisher:  Berkley Sensations
New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh is back in the shadows of a deadly, beautiful world where angels rule, vampires serve, and one female hunter must crawl out of the darkness to survive…

The severed head marked by a distinctive tattoo on its cheek should have been a Guild case, but dark instincts honed over hundreds of years of life compel the vampire Dmitri to take control. There is something twisted about this death, something that whispers of centuries long past…but Dmitri’s need to discover the truth is nothing to the vicious strength of his response to the hunter assigned to decipher the tattoo.

Savaged in a brutal attack that almost killed her, Honor is nowhere near ready to come face to face with the seductive vampire who is an archangel’s right hand, and who wears his cruelty as boldly as his lethal sensuality…the same vampire who has been her secret obsession since the day she was old enough to understand the inexplicable, violent emotions he aroused in her.

As desire turns into a dangerous compulsion that might destroy them both, it becomes clear the past will not stay buried. Something is hunting…and it will not stop until it brings a blood-soaked nightmare to life once more…

So this is gonna be a quick, short review. I'm not going to dig deep in the story, because the blurb tells basically everything you need to know about the main plot and it would be hard to write a long review without giving away spoilers, and I so don't want to do that with this book, mainly because in this case, it could truly ruin your experience with Dmitri's book. But let me start in the beginning...

I am a huge fan of this series, since I discovered Angels' Blood - the first book in the GH series -, that was in February, 2011. The first three books in this series are about the Archangel, Raphael and His Guild Hunter, Elena. I absolutely loved the first book and the characters -Especially Raphael *sigh* - and the World, Nalini created. I always hated the descriptions in the books, of course I know they're necessary Evil (to me), but I always want to skip them and hop to the dialogue and action scenes. However Nalini has a special gift. The way she describes this world, how the angels' wings look like, how they're flying above the tower it's absolutely stunning.

Like I said Elena and Raphael's story sucked me in, even though the third book isn't my favorite. So when I finished Archangel's Consort - the third book - and saw that the next is gonna be Dmitri's book, I felt a little... no... VERY disappointed. I was like "You gotta be fucking kidding me!! " I mean C'mon!! Archangel's Consort felt a bit rush and it hadn't a true ending.

But I found Dmitri's character to be interesting enough to pre-order Archangel's Blade. So as a birthday gift (My birthday is on 3rd September, btw...) I bought it from the Book Depository. The book arrived a week later and I immediately fallen in love with the cover. Yes the mysterious dark, shirtless predator with 6packs in a long black leather coat and with a gun in his hand can be really eye catching, but that isn't the only thing that I love. I love the scene settings, the colors, the whole set up makes an awesome contrast. And the embossed, color of copper "Archangel's Blade" title wasn't a bad idea either. So I thought it'd look stunning on the shelf... aaaand it remained there until yesterday. That means I haven't touched it for nearly 6 months!! Not even once! How could I not pick up this treasure??  Oh yes. I was scared because it is not about the two main characters from the first 3 books who I already loved.

Man! I soooooo didn't want this book to end... I've never thought Dmitri's story would suck me in as much as Elena's and Raphael's did... that bloodsucker bastard!! The weird thing is, that Archangel's Blade was very similar to Angel's Blood ,which is my favorite in the series, so maybe I'm a little biased. We get to see Elena and Raphael in a few scenes along with Illium, Jason and Venom. And we get a tiny information about Raphael's mother too, but Nalini has carefully made sure that neither side character could overrun Dmitri's story.

Both main character have a past that comes with so much pain and scars on their souls and bodies as well.
I'm happy to tell you, that Dmitri is still that snarky, dangerous, naughty predator as he was in the previous books. But his memories about his past makes you to want pull him into a hug and to make him forget those memories even though he scares the shit out of you...

They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger... Honor's case is the opposite. She was strong, a guild hunter, she thought nothing could break her. She was wrong! After two months torture, nearly killed by vampires, gets assigned to Dmitri to solve a mystery murder case. And when Dmitri crosses a few lines, well.. there would be some scars on him if he wouldn't be a vampire...

While there's a main plot (the mystery murder case) and also a subplot (Honor's attackers' ID) I could say the focus is on Dmitri's real personality and the main characters' relationship- what is a nicely built relationship- And then there's a twist, something special in Honor, what I've really speculated and did not see coming. I'm not sure I liked it or not, it seems a little out of place, not totally fits in the series' world, but it's sweet though.

Most of the readers say, a book is great when there's something unique, something new in it. Which is true, BUT, I say a book is even better, when despite the fact it's really similar to an other, there's something in it, that keeps you away from putting it down and You still like/love it instead of saying "Oh no.. not again!!"

My advice is, if you love this series, don't be afraid and while you're waiting for the next E+R story, go on, pick this up and give a chance to this dark, wicked vampire to seduce you too. I can't promise, he won't bite, though :P

And yes, seems that I just can't write a short review... *sigh*
Whatever, I'm really, really, really looking forward to read Archangel's Storm, the next GH book, and in that case you haven't heard it yet, it's gonna be Jason's -the black winged Angel with extremely talented spying skills- story. Expected publication: September 13th 2012 (another birthday present... CAN'T WAIT!!)

Of course that means we still have to wait at least 1 year(!) for the next book about Elena and Raphael. But until then, Angels' Flight comes out in February 28th 2012 which is an anthology including Angel’s WolfAngels’ JudgmentAngels' Pawn and Angels' Dance.

Review ~ Immortal Rider by Larissa Ione

Title: Immortal Rider
Author: Larissa Ione
Series: Lords of Deliverance (Book 2)
Publish Date: 12/1/2011
Publisher: Grand Central Publishing
Pages: 448
The signs are everywhere...disastrous world events. Evil rising up, unleashed upon the innocent. The prophecies were there...but no one listened. Until now. The time has come for those who can either usher in Doomsday...or prevent it. They are here. They ride. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Arik Wagner, a soldier with the U.S. Army's paranormal unit, the R-XR, kissed a girl and liked it. And then he went to hell as punishment. Where he's spent weeks being tortured...and plotting revenge.

Limos, Horsewoman of the Apocalypse, isn't your average girl. She's immortal, dangerous, and her fiancé is Satan himself. In a moment of weakness, she gave in to her desire and kissed Arik, triggering her fiancé's wrath - and his claim on her. In order to save Arik, and the world, Limos must make a dangerous pact with her recently turned evil brother, Pestilence. A deal that might just cost her her soul...and her heart.

Read an Excerpt

Immortal Rider is the second book in the Lords of Deliverance series. If you're not familiar with this series, the LoD is Set in the Demonica world and it’s about  The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Although, you don't have to read the Demonica books first to fully understand this series, I highly recommend to start with them, before you pick up Eternal Rider, the first book in the LoD series. Also, DO NOT read these books out of order! There are series that the books in them are related to each other but you can read them out of order (like I do with the Dark-Hunter series), but the Demonica and the Lords of Deliverance are not like that.

Sooooo...
I purchased the book before Christmas in 2011 and just finished this morning. Before you could get a heart attack or think "Geez!! That could be a really boring book..." I have to tell you, that no it wasn't, but i have times when I'm in a reader's crisis. Not often, but once in a while, especially when I read so many books within only a few days. Even the craziest reader needs a break, right?

Most of the author's and the series’ fan say that the Immortal Rider is better than Eternal Rider, even though Eternal Rider was a bomb, a strong start for the new series. I don't know what to say about this, because Boy, I have a special place for Ares (Eternal Rider) in my heart, that no one can replace. However, IR contains more intrique, action and funny moments, than ER. So yeah... I'm stuck between these two, but Hey, this was only the second book, and Thanatos and Reseph gets his own book soon... but not soon enough!! But I will talk about that later.

Immortal Rider is Limos's book. She's the third Horseman, Famine. Her mother is Lilith, she was raised in Sheoul - also called Hell - and her fiancé is Satan. Nope. That's not a metaphor. Her beloved brother Reseph, whose seal has broken in the last Demonica book (Sin Undone) and turned evil and now called Pestilence is about to make sure Limos's seal breaks too and with that, the other two Horsemen’s seal breaks and then comes the Apocalypse.

Every Horseman has an Agimortus (trigger for breaking their Seal). Her seal will be broken when a certain cup or bowl is drank from. But no one knows where the hell that cup is, and they have to find it before Pestilence does. But that's just the cherry on the Sundae.

In Eternal Rider, a human named Arik kissed Limos. She kissed a sexy man. Why is that a problem? You could ask... Well, it's easy peasy. Her fiancé is a bit of jealous type. Oookay, kidnapping the man, who kissed your bride and torturing him in Hell to make him say Her Name while in misery, is not a bit jealousy. Because that happens with Arik.

At the beginning of the book the rest of the crew - The Horsemen, The Aegis (Society of human warriors dedicated to protecting the world from evil.) and the R-XR (the Army‘s supersecret paranormal defense division) - are working on to find Arik and free him. And thanks for Pestilence, he gets out. But nothing comes without a price. Especially when your „fairy godmother" is an evil Horsemen. Actually, the first 50 pages seemed a little slow and boring to me, because it explained everything about the situation. Which is not a bad thing if you're a newbie or read the first book long ago.

There's one thing I loved in this book above everything else. The story lines. Yes lines, because while the Good guys trying to find Limos's agimortus, in the meantime, Pestilence always do something to keep them busy, creates new problems. Like revealing Limos's biggest secret. A secret, that she kept from her brothers for five thousand years and could end their lovely relationship in a heartbeat. But Pestilence is not the only one. While The Aegis and the Horsemen working together, they're keeping secrets from each other, and have their own plans, creating new problems in their own side. That's fascinating, 'cuz there's always something I can speculate about, if I’ve already found out one of them. Who says it's not a page-turner? I'm certainly not.

And then there is the romance thing between Limos and Arik. This book is a way less sultry than Eternal Rider was and certainly not as HOT as any of the Demonica books. Oh yes, both Limos and Arik have the desire fo the other, that is what gotten Arik in Sheoul in the first place, but when you have a tiny problem like there's a chastity belt on you, that can rip off your lover's hands, toung and... ok you get the picture... and only her husband can remove it, it's not so easy to go to room. But naughty, wicked readers, like me, don't be afraid! You'll get a few hot scenes anyway. So this romance isn't built upon a physical attraction - ok, maybe it is at the beginning - but more on a strong emotional connection between the main characters.

At the end of the book, The Aegis jeopardizes Thanatos (Death) the fourth Horseman's seal by sending a female Guardian to seduce him in order to save the World. All of the Horsemen think that his Seal will be broken if Thanatos loses his virginity. And when the Guardian successfully completed her task, only then The Aegis figure out that maybe they doomed the world instead of saving it...

The characters don't have excessive hero complex. Thank God! They're likeable and relatable. They made mistakes. The two main characters are Limos and Arik, but some of the side character have major role in the story, that we could easily call them main characters as well. There are POV changes for my entertainment. I loved being Pestilence's head once in a while and see his reactions for the events. But we can see with Thanatos' -which is awesome, since the next book will be His -, the Aegis guardian's, and sometimes even the two watcher's (Individuals assigned to keep an eye on the Four Horsemen); Reaver's and Harvester's eyes. They all have something in them that makes the reader to remember them. But if you're a fan of Larissa's book, you should know that in her books the side characters are just as important as the main ones.

Favorite qoutes:

"You had sex with a beautiful woman. Why is that a problem? Are you a penis guy?”
“So, Tav, whatcha got planned for later?”
Tavin peeled off his surgical gloves. “Sex”
Right. Seminus demon. Needed to have sex or die.
“Groovy.”
“And you?”
Escape. Arik shrugged. “I’ll probably eat the bucket of
fish skin and guts your friends bring me. After that, I’m pretty
sure I have an appointment with the executioner. Why? You
want to make a date?”
Tav shoved the gloves inside his medic duffel.“You’re not my type. Sems can only come with a female.”
“Huh. I’m not a Seminus demon, but I can only come
with a female too.”

The next book in the series will be Thanatos' (Death) book - Lethal Rider June 1, 2012
They are here. They ride. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
